When trying to make the choice between living in Redding and living at home this year, Margarete told me that I could "bring the Kingdom to Anaheim!" Looking back, I realize how prophetic that was! A few weeks ago, God had given me two dreams in a row about ministering prophetically, which was a huge personal motivation for me during this break! As I step out in this measure of faith, God is honoring me.The week and a half spent in SoCal over Winter Break is just one example of some of the ministry God has been doing through me.
I arrived in Anaheim the evening of the 23rd. Things had been tense at home this summer. Therefore, a part of me had been dreading coming home for several weeks. Additionally, I hadn't totally gotten over the lie that what goes on at Bethel, stays at Bethel! Then, God began to show me the gold in every one of my family members. Others began telling me what a dumb lie I was believing. Within a few days of arriving in Anaheim, I was basking in the abundance of Jesus' Kingdom! On Sunday night, love had been pouring out of my heart like a waterfall towards my mom. I literally stood in front of them and gave a talk on an empowering culture! On Monday, I loved spending time with my family. I prophetically spoke life and Kingdom values into so many people while down there: family, friends, acqaintances, and virtual strangers! I could tell that they were very reflective and touched, surprised at what God wanted to say about their future. For example, when hanging out with some friends from high school at the mall, I met a girl they had just connected with. I started giving her a word, not knowing anything about her beliefs. It turned out that she was a "follower of the Lord Jesus Christ" and really needed confirmation about her security in Christ--which is exactly what God was showing me through the image of a ring (eternity) and a flower (opening up to God's work in her life.) I stayed up till 4 am once listening to my sister--her hopes and wishes, her anxietes. I told her that God grieved over the difficult circumstances in her life and that He had so much more He wanted to share with her heart. Then, I shared vision I was seeing for a "future and a hope." Additionally, that week, an acquaintance currently visiting home churches spent time with us. Without fully knowing his background, I felt God challenging me to share two recent dreams I had had about the prophetic with him and then begin prophesying over him. Even though I was hesitant, I went for it! I read scriptures from the Bible which I felt applied to him. Then, I told him that I saw him standing up, holding open a Bible, and speaking about it during a home chuch meeting. I assume that he was accustomed to simply visiting them without having that kind of leadership role. He looked very reflective and said, "that's very interesting. I've never even seen myself doing that." God wants to pull him in to such a greater destiny! As I was packing my things a week later, he mentioned that he might email me and ask for some counsel in the future.
I was kind of taken aback by the fact that this 30-something year old was interested in this 18-year old's counsel. Now, people are seeking after my wisdom! Thinking back, God reminded me of the story of Daniel, a well-educated youth who was the sought-out dream interpreter of three kings of the most powerful Kingdom on Earth. He remained devoted to God in prayer (building intimacy and character) and then used his giftings to bless kings and nations (operating in power.) Eventually, this turned the eyes of two kings to God (see Daniel 4:34-37.) He simply stewarded what he had. Because Daniel had been a blessing, he was blessed. According to Daniel 6:28, "Daniel enjoyed success" during the reigns of King Darius and King Cyrus of Persia. In fact, King Belshazzar gave him authority as third ruler in the kingdom in Daniel 5:29. He recognized that Daniel was already one of the top workers in an invisible "kingdom that will not be destroyed." To the increase of His government, there will be no end!
On my way down to Anaheim, I visited the Goleta Vineyard with another BSSM student from Santa Barbara I had come down with. At the end of the service, the senior pastor asked us to be part of the ministry team. While we were standing in front, the assistant pastor came up for prayer. After praying for him, I called out a word of knowledge for neck pain. This was my first time publically calling out a word of knowledge, and I did not know if it was really from God, as the word "neck" had randomally popped in my head. It turned out that six women came up to me for prayer, and one was on the SOZO team! It seemed so natural for her, this more experienced woman on the ministry team, to come up to me, new Bethel student, for prayer. I guess she was honoring the anointing and covering! This whole experience opened my eyes to the following: Because I am a Bethel student, people have expectations from me now!
Just today, an American student in my Revival Group visiting Norway (for the first time) over the holidays shared a similar story. His friend's uncle wants them to share what God has been doing in their lives and to teach leaders in the county how to hear from the voice of God! I also know of two girls (Philippa, my coach, and Ruth, Jauquin Evans personal assistance) who have gone back to their countries over the summer and lead ministry trips--right after First Year! Ruth was the main speaker at healing conferences and called out powerful words of knowledge that lead to hundreds of healings in conservative churches! (This has planted a few ideas in my heart...more about that soon!) Since the spring I decided to go to France, God has highlighted Jeremiah 1 to me multiple times. In the passage, God tells Jeremiah the following: "do not say I am only a youth; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." I have been told that I will give vision to nations--and I have huge dreams about this! My biggest mission is to raise awareness of people's true identities, destinies, and potential, no matter where I am! Right now, God has me stewarding this knowledge in California...but through my blogs, He is taking it to the nations!
On December 26, I wrote the following in my journal: "My job is a worker of the Kingdom now. And wherever He sends me I'll go (Jer 1)."
